Benito Soliven: Ang Bayan Na May Puso simply emerged as a sleek lizard to a gigantic chameleon with all of its achievements over the past years of active leadership of the working tandem of Hon. Roberto T. Lungan and Hon. Vice Mayorr John Paul S. Azur that exemplifies a Leadership in Action.
The Local Government Unit of Benito Soliven, Isabela with the dedicated and committed efforts of all its Departments partnering with both Local and National agencies, organizations, and different local entities have made significant history in the delivery of services to constituents that made the municipality known not only in the Province but to the whole country.
The Municipality is home to the FIRST Adaptation & Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) Village and the Pioneering Municipality for the Community- Based Action Research for Climate- Resilient Agriculture in Cagayan Valley which was successfully launched last December 7, 2017 at Barangay Lucban, Benito Soliven, Isabela. The vast agriculture and agro-tourism potential of Benito Soliven, was showcased in this valuable project and endeavour that significantly changed the perspective of local farmers and had opened doors for the recognition of the various collaborations of one of the most active organizations in Benito Soliven: the LUCBAN Small Water Irrigation System Association (LSWISA) and the LGU.
With the establishment of this project, a better future in the agriculture industry is set for the Solivenians.Empowerment of the rural areas is one of the advocacies of the administration of the Lungan- Azur tandem. They so believe that provision of accessibility through road concreting and rehabilitation projects could lead to a more progressive Benito Soliven. This advocacy had been evidently realized with the unprecedented commitment of programming series of concreting projects even in the far flung areas.
One of the projects is the DILG’s Local Government Support Fund- Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (LGSF-ADM) in 2017 concreting 1,382.58 km with over 9,306 householder beneficiaries. The implementation of this project qualified the LGU- Benito Soliven for the Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities Incentives and Recognition for Exemplars in the Province. This recognition and citation is a benchmark of the administration’s focus in transparency and committed delivery of awarded programs, projects and activity for the citizenry.
